It’s Oct. 31.
Halloween.
You might not be thinking of Christmas.
John Campbell certainly is.
Actually, he has been for months now.

The tipping point
Here’s an idea for the 2008 presidential candidates: make all
restaurants be required to make their payment options be via server
only. Otherwise, it can just get too tricky.
I recently had lunch with a co-worker, and after the meal, we waited
in line at the cash register to pay. Since I never carry cash, I put
mine on my [...]

Bet on it: Your guide to weekend football, Week 8
Sometimes the NFL just makes no sense.
Or maybe I’m just an idiot.
Personally, I prefer Option No. 1, although it’s much more likely to be the second of the two.

Good times with Nickel Creek and RENT
I revisited an old friend recently and made a new one over the weekend.
I saw Nickel Creek in concert Saturday night, and despite my long held belief that I hated them, I have to now admit that they are a good group. It’s just too bad they’re going on hiatus. Otherwise, I’d become quite the [...]

Quitters?
A recent Entertainment Weekly online segment asked readers what TV shows they had already stopped watching (or were about to quit). I’ve been having that same debate this week, as I’m wondering how much longer I’ll stick with Heroes.

Best game ever and so much more
By this time, you’ve read just about all you need to read about the University of Kentucky’s monumental upset over then-top-ranked LSU Saturday night at Commonwealth Stadium.
If you’ll indulge me, though, I’d like to share one more story with you.

Sweeney!
There are several good movies coming out this fall/winter (The Darjeeling Limited, Charlie Wilson’s War, No Country For Old Men, for instance), but none have me quite excited as Sweeney Todd, director Tim Burton’s take on Stephen Sondheim’s brilliant Broadway musical.

Bet on it: Your guide to weekend football, Week 6
I have redeemed my lousy picks, as I finished 3-1 on the week in college (bringing my overall mark to 10-6) and 11-3 in the pros (making me 48-28 on the year).
So, try this for the upcoming games:

For the love of God, stop calling it cornhole
It is time we must rise together and put a stop to something that is crippling this nation, one juvenile giggle at a time. We must join forces and put an end to the use of the phrase “cornhole.”
Oh, to some it’s an innocent phrase used to describe a bean bag tossing game.
